“Everything about the style of photos was right on point with us! It was exactly what we were after”
Joseph + Selena met at the gym that Selena was working at. A romance developed and 3 years later, Joseph asked Selena to marry him on a balcony overlooking the snowy mountains in Queenstown, New Zealand.
Joseph + Selena went about planning their wedding – a day Selena had been dreaming about her whole life – and enjoyed the process, staying calm, centred and excited leading up to the big day. Selena says, “That sense of certainty and readiness made our whole day so much more meaningful and special.”
Joseph + Selena said their vows at the Mater Dei Chapel in Camden. Selena says, “Nothing can beat the moment those church doors opened. Seeing each other from one end of the aisle to other, was so immersive and intimate that it felt like we were in our own world. Those moments of feeling truly present and connected are incredibly special”.
Following the ceremony, we had to pivot our plans due to wet weather and headed to a bar in the city. But our newlyweds took it in their stride, there was nothing that could take away from the happiness of the day and they enjoyed a drink and a laugh on location.
When it came to their wedding photography, Selena says, “We wanted someone who resonates with us and who understands our vision – capturing the essence of our significant day that we will forever look back on. A photographer who can balance taking charge and guiding the day effectively, while still ensuring we feel comfortable.”
She kindly adds, “Mark exceeded our expectations and captured our day even better than we’d hoped! We had such a smooth experience from beginning to end with Mark, Leanne and the team, that we could focus on enjoying our day rather than worrying about the details, knowing that everything is in capable hands. We could not be any happier!”
Joseph + Selena’s wedding reception at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf was an elegant and fun-filled affair. In terms of their styling, Selena notes it was important to honour tradition but also make the day “distinctly ours”. They worked with revered event stylist Elana K Weddings, the brief being “timeless and elegant with a modern twist to reflect both our individual personalities, but also our unity as one”.
The night was led by MC Phillip Cartisano who ensured everyone had an amazing time, not least our bride + groom. Selena sums up the day saying, “Our wedding day was so much more than we’d ever imagined. The feeling is indescribable yet so unforgettable!”
