Luke + Laura were set up on a blind date but first impressions weren’t great – Laura admits they did not like each other at all. However, they randomly started talking a few weeks later and the rest is history!
They fell in love and five years later they were heading out for lunch for Luke’s birthday. It was pouring rain that day and Laura was wearing brand new shoes. She asked Luke to drop her off at the restaurant so she didn’t get her shoes wet. But he insisted they go for a drink at Opera Bar instead as they were early and had time to kill. Laura walked in the rain from the Intercontinental Hotel to Opera Bar, cursing Luke because her new shoes were ruined. To her surprise, he picked that moment and stopped her mid-sentence and got down on one knee and proposed! As soon as he asked, the sun came out and they spent the rest of their day overjoyed and excited for what the future held.
When it came to their wedding photography, Laura says they chose Mark Jay Photography because “we loved how relaxed his photos are and he captures a lot of candid photos which we love”.

Our newlyweds enjoyed their portrait session alongside a drink at Marble Bar in Sydney’s CBD followed by the classic surrounds of Sydney’s Town Hall.
Luke + Laura’s wedding reception at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf was an elegant and fun-filled affair, with sophisticated styling by the team at NPM Events.
The night was led by MC John Alten who ensured everyone had an amazing time, not least our bride + groom!
