Matt + Tayla’s mums conspired to bring them together! Their mothers’ instinct was strong – and reliable – because they both thought Matt + Tayla would be perfect for each other and they were right! In 2020 they orchestrated a family catch up where Matt + Tayla met for the first time. Tayla says, “We met and our mums got their wish, the rest is history!”
Two and a half years later, and Matt had organised a day out to celebrate their birthdays. Little did Tayla know, but plans for this special day had been in the works – and been kept a secret – for a whole 5 months. Matt put together a game plan, organizing the day to start with some putt putt golf, drinks at a bar and then heading over to Balls Head reserve to watch the sunset. Tayla says, “It was raining on and off that day and Matt was trying to throw me off by saying maybe we won’t go to the park at all, so I definitely thought there’s no way it’s happening today with this rain! Right at the perfect moment, the rain passed and we walked down the track and through the trees which revealed massive light up letters spelling T & M. They were lit up in-front of the Harbour Bridge and as I turned the corner I saw our families standing with the biggest smiles on their faces. Matt walked me down and got down on one knee with the most beautiful sky painting a picture behind him. It was the most perfect day of our lives.”
They couldn’t wait to recreate that feeling on their wedding day and planned their Sydney wedding excited for all the dancing and celebrating that was to come.
Matt + Tayla said their vows at Our Lady of Victories in Horsley Park, our happy couple all smiles as they exited the church as husband + wife. We then went for a gorgeous photoshoot at the Opera House. Wedding photography was an important consideration for Matt + Tayla and Tayla kindly says:
“We chose to go with Mark because we loved his style! After seeing him photograph all of our friends weddings, we knew he was the photographer for us! His attention to detail is unmatched and his quality of work is exactly what we were after. It was always our dream to have Mark capture our day and we couldn’t be more excited to have him there!”
Matt + Tayla hosted their wedding reception at Curzon Hall. The full dance floor and happy smiles around the room were a testament to the fun, excitement and love that everyone felt for Matt + Tayla on their special day.
