“Mark was able to capture all of our candid moments so beautifully, he didn’t miss a shot! Some of my favourite photos are the ones where we didn’t even know he was taking a photo”

Steven + Meri’s love story began at an old workplace. Meri says:

“In the office, we didn’t really have a chance to notice each other, but it was during those Friday night gatherings that our connection blossomed. Like clockwork, every Friday night, we would venture out with our friends for what would soon become epic and unforgettable nights… there was always an adventure awaiting us. Now we’ve come to realise that it wasn’t partying we were chasing, but each other”.

Love soon followed, and after a few years of dating, they planned a trip to Jervis Bay to celebrate Steve’s birthday. Meri had organised a picnic at their favourite beach. “Upon our arrival, Steve led me towards a massive marquee where an extravagant picnic had been beautifully set up. Once I saw it, I knew it was happening and couldn’t stop crying. My brother also jumping out of the bushes filming us also gave it away a little! Steve had his guitar ready and sang a song that he had written for me before getting down on one knee and proposing. My parents, who had been hiding in the bushes the whole time, also emerged to congratulate us. Later, I learned that my parents had gone ahead and stayed at a friend’s house to set up this unforgettable picnic for us. Steve exceeded all my expectations for what I could have ever hoped our proposal to be—it was absolutely perfect.”

And perfection continued on their wedding day! Steve + Meri were married in a heartfelt ceremony officiated by Meri’s brother at the gorgeous Grounds of Alexandria. Following their vows, we took advantage of the beautiful estate for our photoshoot. Meri says:

“It was important to us that our photographer had the ability to catch our candid moments flawlessly. Steve and I are very uncomfortable in front of the camera, so I wanted a photographer who could catch the true moments of us, when we were just being ourselves. Mark was such a calming presence and made us feel comfortable the whole time. He has the skill of giving us directions without making the photo look staged.  Mark was able to capture all of our candid moments so beautifully, he didn’t miss a shot! Some of my favourite photos are the ones where we didn’t even know he was taking a photo”.

The day was centered around a classy and classic vibe, with a neutral colour palate, lots of white roses and peonies decorating Linseed House. One of our favourite moments to capture was their first dance where the choreography and fun they had truly showed.

Finally, Meri says, “We are OBSESSED with our photos… like I still can’t stop looking at them”. And neither can we!
