Tomas + Bela had heard good things about each other for months via Tomas’ uncle who knew the both of them and thought they’d be a good match. They were finally introduced one night and his instincts were spot on: they have been inseparable since.

Just shy of a year later and Tomas took Bela out for dinner in Barangaroo. Bela says, “I thought for sure he was going to propose that night (hence the cute outfit and fresh nails). Then next thing I know, we were walking back to the car…my finger VERY empty. The next day, we had family over my house for lunch where the day went normal, except Tomas was being very quiet and strange. Once lunch finished, he took me to the front yard, had drinks ready and got down on one knee. It was perfect, because my family were all there ready to celebrate and his family came shortly after and we partied.”

Tomas + Bela were keen to begin their lives together as soon as possible and planned their wedding in a matter of months. The day incorporated beautiful Croatian traditions. One of the highlights was Bela getting ready in her nosnje (traditional Croatian dress), together with all her nieces and nephews. Tomas came with his side for a traditional bartering for the bride where Bela was finally revealed (after some false starts!) to the cheers of the crowd.

They made their promises before God at Sv Nikola Croatian Catholic Church in St Johns Park. Following the mass, guests partied with the newlyweds. Tomas + Bela wanted a strong focus on candid photos and wanted their day to be centered on having fun rather than travelling to a separate location shoot. We were able to use the beautiful interiors of the church, blessed with rays of light through the stained glass windows for our photo session.

Tomas + Bela celebrated their reception at Novella on the Park in Abbotsbury. The night was led by MC Ante Grabovac and guests partied the night away filled with the warmth of two beautiful families coming together.
